World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) Names Rehab Sallam, Head of International Relations at the Egyptian Exchange, Among the Most Influential Women Leaders in Global Capital Markets

The World Federation of Exchanges
(WFE) has announced on 04/03/2026 the selection of Ms. Rehab Sallam, General
Manager of International Relations at the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), as one of
the most influential women leaders in the global capital markets industry,
representing the Egyptian Exchange. The list includes 20 executive leaders from
exchanges around the world and selection was done through a committee
comprising members of the WFE and industry stakeholders, with the final list
approved the full WFE Board.
The federation
has announced the final list and published it across its official platforms,
highlighting the selected leaders and their professional achievements. The list
included only two Arab ladies from Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Rehab Sallam
joined the Egyptian Exchange in 2007 and has held several roles across the
Membership, Disclosure, and External Representation Offices. She has also led
key projects including the Electronic Membership and Electronic Disclosure
initiatives, overseeing the integration of the Egyptian Exchange with brokerage
firms that are members of the exchange, as well as the project to connect all
listed companies to the Egyptian Exchange’s electronic systems and In 2023, she
was assigned to manage the International Relations.
Rehab Sallam holds a Master’s degree in Business
Administration (Banking and Finance) from
the Arab Academy for Science, Technology
and Maritime Transport. She has
also completed several specialized studies in capital
markets, trading, financial analysis, translation and project management.
In this context, Dr. Islam
Azzam, Executive Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange, stated that this
recognition reflects the international community’s appreciation of Egyptian
professional calibers. Azzam added that it also underscores EGX’s commitment to
supporting gender equality and women’s empowerment, while strengthening the
role of women within the capital markets community at both the national and
international levels. The recognition also highlights the role played by
Egyptian professionals in enhancing the position of the Egyptian market within
the global capital markets ecosystem.
