One
of the founding members of Sigma Capital, Mr. Marwan comes from an
extensive background in the financial services industry.
Before
co-founding Sigma, Mr. Marwan was Managing Director of EFG-Hermes
Securities. Mr. Marwan
spent seven years with EFG-Hermes, where he headed and participated
in establishing several divisions.
Whilst
at
EFG-Hermes, Mr. Marwan established the securities arm, FBG and
assumed the post of executive director.
Mr. Marwan then participated in the establishment of the
Investment Banking division where he assumed the position of Vice
President and was in charge of business development.
In
mid 1997, Mr. Marwan was appointed the executive director of
International Business Development.
He was in charge of EFG-Hermes’ regional expansion and was
instrumental in transactions such as the privatization of Jordanian
Cement Factories and the private placement of Jordan’s first GSM
operator, Fastlink. Mr.
Marwan has worked on many transactions covering the building
materials, food, media, and telecom industries.
