Prior to co-founding Sigma Capital, Mr. Abdel Wadood last held the position of Director of Development and Investments at Orascom where he was in charge of overseeing a number of corporate investments and acquisitions in the fields of technology, telecommunications, leisure, media and industry.  

Mr. Wadood joined Orascom in 1992 and has held numerous positions in the company including a 2-year assignment with Orascom’s office in the Washington DC area.

During his tenure at Orascom, Mr. Wadood was also seconded to the Egyptian Company for Mobile Services (MobiNil) to arrange the project finance, assist in the launch of operations and to set up the Investor Relations function of the company. 

Mr. Wadood has served and continues to serve on the board of a number of companies including Orascom Telecom, Orascom Technology Systems, Intouch Communication Services, Multimedia Megastores, GAM Communications, International Integrated Systems, and the National Leasing Company.  He also serves on the Board of Advisors of the US-based Schwendiman International IT Fund LLC.
