Chairing
the board of Sigma Capital, Dr. Marwan is an international
industrialist/financier who brings extensive experience and exposure
to both the business and political realms.
Dr. Marwan worked in the office of President Gamal Abdel Nasser and
was later appointed as advisor for Arab Affairs to president Sadat.
Dr. Marwan then became the Secretary of Information with the Sadat
administration.
In addition to the above responsibilities, Dr. Marwan was appointed
as Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization in May
1975. This marked the beginning of Dr. Marwan’s focus on private
sector business. He has since participated in and developed many
ventures both locally and internationally.
For 17years until early 1998, Dr. Marwan focused on international
markets. He was a catalyst in many firms spanning a wide spectrum of
businesses such as media, telecommunications, hospitality, retail
and chemicals. Some of these are Ubichem London, House of Fraser,
American International Petroleum, Chelsea Plc, British Home Store -
BHS, and Habitat.
In
early 1998, Dr. Marwan renewed his focus on the Middle East where he
has since participated in numerous ventures capitalizing on his
international mergers and acquisitions experience.
